Directly off of teasing her retirement saying that “The Room Next Door” could potentially be the last film she makes, Tilda Swinton was at the Contenders Film event in Los Angeles. The series shows 21 of the awards season’s most acclaimed movie.

Swinton’s “the Room Next Door which is a Sony Pictures Classics project, is in that number this year. On Saturday night, to attend the function Swinton wore the perfect tan Schiaparelli suit with a pair of gold-tipped shoes.

The shoes were from Daniel Roseberry’s fall 2024 collection for Schiaparelli. They are the brand’s cowboy-inspired mules, according to their Instagram. They are modeled off of the company’s keyhole ankle boots. Those are a brown suede style made to appear like a typical cowboy boot. The pointed toe is capped with a gold metallic embellishment. The embellishment also includes the Schiaparelli signature keyhole detail.

The house codes also extend to the heel which is curved, effecting the shape of an S. That boot has been reduced to a mule for fal 2024 collection, though the exposed back is not visible beneat the extra-wide pants Swinton is wearing.

The full look is from Schiaparelli: she wears a double-breasted oversized jacket in a shade the company calls blonde. Made of wool twill, the suit with its puffed up chest includes gold bijoux buttons. Beneath the jacket she wears a white cottin poplin shirt. She also wears a faux hair braided tie, bolo style. The look was styled by Jerry Stafford.

It’s little surprise that Roseberry is iterating on his existing styles as mules. Mule silhouettes have been trending all year and show no indication of slowing down. In fact, Roseberry showed mules on the spring 2025 runway for Schiaparelli. For the season he included some surrealist style toe molded mule shoes as options for fans. This made the label only the latest of many to support the trend that, alongside slingbacks, has been dominating runways and celebrity style.
