The recently revealed New Balance 2000 Abzorb isn’t the only new lifestyle model fans of the brand have to look forward to in 2025. In addition to that futuristic-leaning vis-tech look is a new, more toned-down model which recently appeared at an overseas New Balance store.
The latest sneaker to surface is the New Balance 2010. In contrast to the 2000 model’s synthetic fused layers and decoupled midsole, the 2010 has more in common with New Balance’s 990 lineage. The new 2010 model utilizes a mesh base with a mix of suede and synthetic overlays and a chunky midsole which is equipped with plenty of the brand’s proprietary Abzorb cushioning in the heel. And like most New Balance sneakers, a reflective “N” logo appears on both the lateral and medial sides of the shoe.
The first New Balance 2010 colorway to surface combines gray and silver with brown overlays and features a tinge of green at the back midsole. The earth tone color palette will likely prove popular with fans of the brand, and there are several other colorways expected to release throughout the year.
While the New Balance 2000 leans into a sporty, technical aesthetic, the 2010 falls more on the side of the brand’s “dad shoe” looks with a bit of a more modern edge than a traditional Made in USA model. And although recent trends have progressed to slimmer, thin soles — such as the brand’s wildly popular collaboration with Miu Miu — New Balance appears committed to maintaining its legacy of stocky lifestyle sneakers.
