This weekend, beauty queens converged on Mexico City to compete in the 2024 Miss Universe pageant. 130 women from around the globe presented themselves in categories like national costume, swimwear, evening wear, as well as personality interview in a multitude of looks. But for shoes, two brands got a lot of play.
Shoe sponsor Vizzano provided a platform sandal that was in heavy usage for the swimwear category. Contestants wore outfits in shades of purple and carried a gold sarong. The shoe featured a simple strap across the toe and a T-strap at the ankle.
Beauty queens often wear platform heels during competition in order to lengthen their legs. Choosing the Vizzano option with a block heel as well as the ankle strap provides additional security to the wearers as the execute sharp pivots and spins for swimwear competition. Vizzano, a Brazilian company, does not sell their shoes directly online but they can be purchased locally in Brazil or through other Brazilian retailers. Alessandra Ambrosio is the current face of the Made in Brazil company.
During the night’s opening number, all 130 girls wore boots. The boots were from Carlos Molina, a New York City-based designer. It’s his Diamond Lady Couture boot that he made for Ninety Union. They feature a pointed toe. It’s currently available for $100.
