Scarlett Johansson suited up to chat with veteran actress June Squibb about her 2024 film “Thelma” in New York City on Thursday.
Johansson wore an oversized black suit paired with chic black patent leather loafer pumps courtesy of Prada. The glossy slip-on style features a round moc toe and a notched vamp strap stamped with the brand’s signature enameled triangle logo plaque. Rubber soles with a 1-inch platform and chunky 3.5-inch block heels finished off the design.
Prada’s ‘Chocolate’ loafers have been extremely popular with celebrities and fashion lovers alike since 2020. Coming in flat and heeled versions, everyone from Emma Watson to Dua Lipa to Selena Gomez has worn the recognizable silhouette. While the distinctive style has had a resurgence in recent years, the chunky Prada loafer isn’t new. Miuccia Prada has been sending different iterations of the penny loafer down the catwalk since the ’90s.
Johansson styled her loafer pumps with white socks, achieving, a notably ’90s aesthetic. A white hair clip holding her blonde tresses up only added to the retro-inspired look.
The “Lost in Translation” actress pulled her ensemble together with a white T-shirt underneath her baggy blazer and a smattering of jewelry, including earrings, a beaded necklace, rings, bracelets, and a gold watch.
When it comes to Scarlett Johansson’s style, the “Fly Me to the Moon” star has a wide-ranging taste. She is no stranger to sporting a sleek suit but will also turn a show-stopping look in a glamorous gown on the red carpet.
Recently, she’s donned velvet stiletto mules from Balmain, Veja’s best-selling ‘Esplar’ sneakers, strappy Saint Laurent ‘Liza’ sandals, and pointy Mary Jane heels. Johansson, a Prada ambassador, also wore a burgundy version of the brand’s iconic loafers, last fall, and strappy stiletto sandals emblazoned with the house’s triangular logo plaque on the red carpet in 2024.
Ahead, check out Scarlett Johansson’s style through the years.
