Satisfy hasn’t been shy about breaking down the details of its first original running shoe, TheRocker, since announcing it last fall. The esoteric French running brand has been quite coy when it comes to actually showing the the trail running super shoe, having only released tantalizing cropped photos until now.
The Satisfy TheRocker can now be seen in full ahead of its summer debut. Official images released Monday peel back the curtain to reveal the highly anticipated model brown and black colorway not unlike Satisfy’s Hoka Speed Mafate Lite 4 collaboration from 2024. Having taken in TheRocker in its entirety, it can now be said that it’s exactly as technically and stylish without pretentiousness as predicted
A Rippy 66 Monomesh upper made from Nova Nylon 66 appears in brown while offering security, durability and breathability and a light weight. It’s lined with Japanese microfiber and carries darker translucent overlays targeted around the collar and forming the eyestay. Harder and opaque black overlays then act as the mudguard and heel stabilizer, sawtooth laces help keep your shoes tied with reflective threads woven in for visibility.
A blackout defines the sole unit, the cushioning of which is a proprietary blend of PEBA and EVA foam called Euforia formed with a 3D-printed aluminum mold. The choice in mold is unconventional because it’s more expensive than the industry’s standard steel molds but delivers a more accurate fit and reduces waste. The mold includes raised callouts of its tech and sizing, and making contact with the ground beneath will be a custom Vibram TuneLug outsole with precise and multi-directional traction.
“Everyone who is running in this shoe has a road running background as well as trail,” Satisfy vice president of footwear Djian told Footwear News in an exclusive interview on the shoe in January. “So it means the type of plush experience, the comfort, the [sole] unit becoming one with the upper [from a road shoe] — everything was made to have this within a shoe with a great grip and to perform on long distances.”
The Satisfy TheRocker will release in July through Satisfy’s website and select boutiques. Pricing is set at $280.
