Monica Barbaro sat down for an interview at SiriusXM Studios yesterday in New York. The thespian is currently promoting her film “A Complete Unknown.” Barbaro recently received her first Oscar nomination for her work in the film, in which she plays singer Joan Baez opposite Timothée Chalamet’s Bob Dylan.
The “Fubar” star braved the chill in the city in a pair of dainty Loewe Mary Janes. Retailing for $1,200, the Onda silhouette featured brushed glossy calfskin leather uppers in a rich burgundy hue accompanied by asymmetric unique square toes and sturdy slingback straps. Engraved silver buckle closures fixed the shoe in place while leather insoles and outsoles offered the style a non-slip feel.
Said insoles were embossed with the designer brand’s logo. Chunky 3.5-inch block heels finished out the set, offering Barbaro a subtle boost. The Onda style also comes in black for those less daring. The shoe’s slingback straps and angular toes created dimension, offering a much-needed respite from the classic Mary Jane style.
Repping Loewe from head-to-toe, the “Top Gun: Maverick” actress donned the brand’s khaki-colored two-piece. The set included a collared windbreaker with drawstring closures that cropped the jacket. A baggy maxi skirt accompanied the jacket. Both the top and bottom were embossed with Loewe’s logo. Silver hardware offered the set a utilitarian feel. Barbaro rounded out the look with dainty gold jewelry.
Barbaro is currently promoting her new film “A Complete Unknown,” an upcoming 2024 drama/music film directed by James Mangold. The film follows musician Bob Dylan’s rise to fame in 1960s New York. The movie enlists the help of stars like Timothee Chalamet, Elle Fanning, Edward Norton and Boyd Holbrook, among others.
During her press tour, the actress has reached for a slew of unique shoe silhouettes in colorful styles from brands like Christian Louboutin, Schiaparelli, Dior, Prada and Gianvito Rossi, among others.
