Nicole Kidman is trying out oversized suiting for a change. The “Babygirl” actress attended the 2025 Critics Choice Awards in Santa Monica wearing an 1980s-inspired oversized Saint Laurent suit. The tan design is double breasted and is from Anthony Vaccarello’s spring 2025 collection for the company. The “Lioness” performer pushed up the sleeves of her blazer while on the red carpet.
Styled by Jason Boden, Kidman wore a pair of Saint Laurent slingback heels with the look. The sharp shoes are the slingback version of the Vendome style. They are made of a high gloss black leather the company calls glazed leather. They feature a straight stiletto heel of more than four inches.
The actually slingback of the Made in Italy shoes is elasticized. Saint Laurent currently sells the shoe for $950. The company previously sold a Vendome knee-high boot. it similarly came in glazed leather and featured a sharp, pointed toe. Jennifer Lopez and Sabrina Elba had been previously seen in that shoe.
Many celebrities have been flattering their feet in slingback styles. Just this week Nicole Ari Parker wore a pair of black smooth leather slingback shoes from Michael Kors. Those heels are the company’s Reece silhouette. She wore them to the Michael Kors New York Fashion Week kick off event with her husband Boris Kodojoe. This came after stars wore slingback heels throughout 2024.
The Critics Choice Awards are an annual event presented by the American-Canadian Critics Choice Association to honor the finest in cinematic achievement. The Critics Choice Awards celebrates projects across film and television, and this year projects like “Conclave,” “Wicked” and “Dune: Part Two” lead the film nominations while “Shogun” leads the television nominations. Presenters will include Aldis Hodge, Kate Hudson, Kathryn Hahn, Lupita Nyong’o and Sarah Michelle Gellar among others and this year’s attendees include Zoe Saldaña, Sarah Michelle Gellar and more.
The 30th annual Critics Choice Awards were originally scheduled to take place Jan. 12, but was postponed after the L.A. wildfires hit the towns of Pacific Palisades and Altadena. While E!‘s traditional red carpet pre-show was canceled, the stars still walked down the carpet in their best outfits and footwear. Chelsea Handler is hosting the ceremony, which is taking place on Feb. 7 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. The ceremony will be broadcast live on E! starting at 7 p.m. ET, and will be available to stream on Peacock on Saturday.
