For the past few years, Britney Spears has interacted largely with the public through Instagram. She’s most known for posting videos of herself dancing, which often go viral, but she often posts about other things as well. This includes videos of her sons, art and more. In her latest upload, she posted a bit of creativity in hopes to spark a bit of joy a mid an ongoing fire crisis in Los Angeles, California.
“I hope you are all doing ok!!!” she wrote. “I had to evacuate my home and I’m driving 4 hours to a hotel!!! I’m posting these adorable shoes to lift people’s spirits!!! Most people my not even be on their phones !!! I wasn’t the past two days because I had no electricity to charge and I just got my phone back!!! I pray you’re all doing well and I send my love!!!”
The video features a pair of doll legs wearing tall D’Orsay style pumps. Heavily encrusted, the shoes are made of pink satin and feature pointed toes and an ankle strap. The designer, Eiko Kollander, calls them Jeweled Rococo Shoes, a reference to the ornate rococo style.
Kollander designs and creates miniature shoes and accessories for dolls that they post to Instagram and sell on Etsy. Their style is typically heavily embellished including open toe styles, mules, block heels and even platform stilettos and booties. In the past, they’ve even created shoes modeled after Alexander McQueen’s famed Armadillo style.
The shoes are made for various dolls including the Popovy Sisters dolls, PashaPasha, Chimera and more. One pair that Hollander has up their Etsy account is available for $168.
The post from Spears was inspired by the fires wildfires that are raging in Los Angeles. There have been 10 people reported dead in the crisis in addition to 9,000 damaged structures and untold millions in losses. The fires were fueled by powerful winds and dry conditions. In addition, arrests have been made of suspected arsonists who have allegedly taken advantage of the dire time.
